It has been a very busy summer for everyone at F Sharp Music!
As we are gradually going back to some form of normality and getting into a routine again after the summer period we reflect on the events that F Sharp Music have been involved in over the past couple of months.
We started our summer in the beautiful surroundings at Murton Farm outside Forfar in Angus.
In collaboration with Pamis Scotland and funded by ‘Get Into Summer’ from the Scottish Government, Fiona led music groups sessions on the theme of ‘On a Farm’ under a lovely wooden canopy surrounded by trees and fields. Next door in the Yurt was Maureen Phillip with her awe inspiring Storytelling Skills doing a fantastic multi-sensory story based on the story ‘The tramp and the fairy boots’.
A week later Fiona was in Dundee running music sessions at Kingspark School for children with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This was a great day and lots of fun with singing favourite songs and playing instruments and using objects of reference for the songs.
At the end of July, our Music Practitioner David was at the Single Parents Festival in Douglaswood, outside Dundee providing music sessions and an exciting sound scavenger hunt for the children attending the festival. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the sessions with David, especially finding lots of different sounds around the festival.
Fiona was then back in Dundee at the start of August at the V&A in collaboration with Pamis Scotland and HMS Unicorn in celebration of Scotland’s Year of Stories funded by Share Care Scotland. There was a fantastic turn out of Pamis families attending the event, following a sea theme for the music sessions, a story all about the HMS Unicorn with Maureen Phillip from Pamis and making sailor hats with Caroline from HMS Unicorn.
F Sharp Music would like to thank Pamis Scotland, Elaine at Single Parents Festival, HMS Unicorn, Murton Farm and Kingspark School for allowing us to be a part of these fantastic events and projects.
